Quality Control & Sourcing Story

Our Commitment to Quality: From the Soil of Solapur to Your Port

Our quality story doesn’t begin at a loading dock; it begins in the fertile fields of the Solapur district in Maharashtra. At KMRS Exim, we don’t just trade in produce, we cultivate partnerships. Our greatest strength lies in our direct, long-standing relationships with a dedicated network of local farmers, many of whom we have worked with for years. This foundation of mutual trust and respect allows us to guarantee not only the precise origin and superior quality of every banana but also a shared commitment to responsible farming.

This hands-on approach gives us complete oversight of the entire process, ensuring our promise of quality is delivered at every stage.

A Journey of Uncompromised Quality

1. Selective Harvesting at Peak Maturity We work hand-in-hand with our partner farmers. Guided by our exacting standards, they harvest the G9 bananas by hand only when they reach the perfect 11 to 13-week maturity. This selective, non-negotiable approach ensures each bunch has the ideal characteristics for a long shelf life, perfect ripening, and the consistent quality your market demands.

2. Rapid Pre-Cooling & Processing Time is critical in preserving freshness. Within hours of being cut, the bananas arrive at our modern packhouse facility. Here, they immediately undergo a crucial pre-cooling process for a minimum of six hours. This vital step rapidly removes field heat, preserves the fruit’s cellular integrity, and is the first key to locking in farm-fresh quality for the entire journey.

3. Meticulous Sorting and Grading Once cooled, every hand of bananas is washed in clean, sanitized water. Then, under the trained eyes of our quality assurance team, the fruit is meticulously sorted. We grade each hand based on size, length, and cosmetic appearance, ensuring it precisely matches your order specifications and is completely free of scarring, bruising, or defects.

4. Advanced Protective Packaging Protecting the fruit on its long journey is paramount. The perfectly graded bananas are carefully enclosed in high-density, anti-static vacuum bags to halt the ripening process. They are then placed into robust, 5-ply bottom and 3-ply top corrugated boxes, specifically designed to provide maximum ventilation and protection against transit pressures.

5. Final Inspection and Monitored Loading Our commitment extends to the final moment. A final, thorough inspection of the packed boxes is conducted before they are strategically loaded into a 40’ reefer container by our experienced team. We oversee the entire stuffing process, ensuring the container is sealed at the precise temperature of +13°C. This guarantees that the quality we promised in Solapur is the quality that arrives at your port.
